README
K_LiquidGlass applies a Liquid Glass or frosted-glass treatment to the composited image entering the effect and blends the result inside a generated or matte-driven glass region.
It is designed primarily for adjustment-layer workflows, with blur, refraction, chromatic shifting, glass tinting, edge highlights and optional NVIDIA CUDA acceleration.
PLATFORM
- Windows only.
- Adobe After Effects
.aexplugin. - NVIDIA CUDA only for GPU rendering.
TESTED ENVIRONMENT
- Adobe After Effects 2025.
- 8 bpc, 16 bpc and 32 bpc float.
VERSION COMPATIBILITY
- Tested with After Effects 2025.
- Other After Effects versions may be compatible but are not verified.
MAIN FEATURES
- Liquid Glass and frosted-glass effects.
- Background blur, refraction and chromatic shifting.
- Glass tint and edge-highlight controls.
- Custom rounded-rectangle glass regions.
- Alpha-matte-driven glass regions.
RENDERING BACKENDS
- CPU renderer.
- CUDA renderer.
The Renderer setting can be Auto, GPU or CPU. CUDA rendering requires an NVIDIA GPU and a 32 bpc float context. If CUDA is unavailable, the plugin falls back to CPU rendering.
NOTES
- The effect is designed primarily for use on adjustment layers.
- Pixels outside the active glass region preserve the original input image.
- GPU acceleration is CUDA-only. DirectX, Metal, OpenCL and non-NVIDIA GPU paths are not implemented.
